Exploring the History of Earth: From Habitability to Red Giant

History of Earth
We have the impression today that our planet, with some exceptions, is stable. There was a time when the earth was not an hospitable place to live. The presence of liquid (if not everywhere) water is a vital condition for the existence of life. Air Oxygen deficiency was the reason for land being inhabited until Ordovizium.

Our planet is changing due to many factors. First, the sun’s ageing increases their radiation. It is obvious because the sun’s inner boundary of the habitable zones has been shifted away. The ageing of the earth and the decrease in geological activity are also problems. The outer boundary of the habitable zone is likely to shrink as a result. After 500 million years, life on Earth may not be possible. But Pangea Ultimo, a hostile and deserted world, will still exist. The Earth’s atmosphere will become very dense, similar to that of Venus. Later water will evaporate and volcanic gases will combine. This state will last for billions of years — a sad ending for our planet, before the Sun. After the collapse of hydrogen combustion and an instable phase finally inflates to a giant red star. There’s no way to know if the earth will be swallowed, but if it doesn’t, it will be a lonely, devastated planet traveling through space.
