This year I will be 50. My bones are creaking more; my skin is not snapping back like it used to. You can’t tickle my skin anymore. It has a dull, thickening. My gums are relocating towards my jaw and packing in. These changes can be gradual or unpredictably sudden. I remember the day that I couldn’t see the words typed in my profession. The ophthalmologist explained to me that I had presbyopia. It’s perfectly normal. You’re middle-aged.
Clement thought my age was a good thing. He said, \”Yep. You are going to live for ever.\” \”I believe anyone under 50 without a genetic risk will reach longevity escape velocity.\”
