Exploring the connection between exercise and epigenetics

Exercise and Epigenetics

A newfound interest in epigenetics has been sparked by the groundbreaking research in superlongevity done by Dr David Sinclair, Yuancheng Ryan Lu and their Information Theory of Aging. This is a research article I would recommend.

Exercise is a key factor in triggering epigenetic changes in the skeletal muscles. DNA hypomethylation, and histone hyperacetylation have emerged as crucial events that increase transcription. Further investigation is needed to better understand the complex interactions between epigenetic modifications, their regulation by metabolic events and signaling during exercise.
