We wanted to bring your attention today to an overview of aging, and the role the gut microbiome has in it.

Inflammaging, the age-related chronic inflammation that is a result of microbial load, has been shown to be a growing problem. Inflammaging can be caused by a variety of factors, such as senescent or immunosenescent cells and cell debris.

In a previous article we discussed the gut microbiome and its potential role as an origin point for inflammaging. We wanted to highlight this publication in order to encourage people who are interested in learning more about this rapidly developing area of research on aging [1].
