Vision Impairment is Associated with Mortality
Meta-analysis shows that those with visual impairments and blindness have a greater mortality risk than their peers who have better vision. The study showed that mortality risks were 29% higher among those with mild vision impairments and 89% higher among those with severe impairments.

Globally, the population and their eyes are aging. The number of blind and vision impaired people is expected to double in the next 30 year.
