In his New York Times bestseller The Singularity is Near (Amazon’s #1 science and philosophy book), he predicts that A.I. will surpass human intelligence by 2045.

We would be bored if we only had radical life extensions. There wouldn’t be anything to do and we’d run out of new ideas. But that is not going to happen. We’ll also have radical life-expansion, with millions of virtual worlds to explore and literally expand our minds.
We’ll be able to quickly change our virtual environments and our bodies, but they will still feel real. Ray Kurzweil says that we’ll be able do this with real life too.
