NASA’s historic Twins Study examined identical twin astronauts Scott Kelly and Mark Kelly, and provided new health information about the effects of space travel.

Susan Bailey, a professor at Colorado State University, was among more than 80 scientists from 12 universities that conducted research for the textbook experiment. Mark stayed on Earth and Scott orbited above it for almost a year. NASA’s Human Research Program coordinated the massive effort.

Bailey, who has been working on NASA projects, will now publish 30 papers with more than 200 other researchers from academic, government and aerospace groups, as well as dozens of other organizations, in five Cell Press journals, Nov. 25, along with over 200 others.
