The immune system of elderly people is boosted by drug therapy

The drugs were designed to block the mammalian targets of rapamycin protein (mTOR), which boosted the immune systems by 40% among elderly people.

By boosting the immune system, they can safely reduce infections among elderly volunteers by around 40%.

In 2004, fruit flies that were tested for a similar enzyme had a longer life span.
