Irina conboy, Dr. Uncovering the Rejuvenating effects of Plasma Dilution at the EARD 2021 Conference

Dr. Irina conboy — Rejuvenating effects of plasma dilution
This article will highlight two important points. 1. The plasma dilution process does reverse the aging process but only a little. Next, will be to see if it can be repeated over and over again in order to get younger. 2. She hopes to release the results of human tests at some point.

At the EARD 2021 Conference, Dr. Irina conboy discussed the rejuvenating effect of plasma dilution on old mice. Dr. Conboy explains her belief that tissue repair and maintenance is the best way to rejuvenation, rather than preventing tissue injury.

Irina is a Professor of Bioengineering at UC Berkeley. She is a core faculty member of the UCB/UCSF graduate program. Her laboratory’s main focus is on understanding age-induced and pathological changes to the circulatory milieu, and their impact upon signaling pathways which regulate tissue repair and maintenance. This direction has been extended in the last few years to include synthetic biology and digital biosensors that can be used to diagnose age-induced alterations, and to assess the response to treatment longitudinally and in real time. This research will help us better understand the factors that influence homeostatic health. It will also enable new approaches to treating a variety of diseases, from cancer to tissue degeneration, and novel methods to reduce fibrosis and inflammation, as well as metabolic decline. Prof. Conboy has received many awards for her work on Aging, including Silicon Valley Foundation Award in Clinical Translation of Aging Research, Open Philanthropy Award and Packer Endowment for Aging Research, Raymond and Beverly Sackler’s TAU Award and Calico Award. She also won Rogers’ Award and SENS Foundation’s Bridging the Gap Award. Keck Foundation Award; Glenn Award for Research in Biological Mechanisms of Aging; Ellison’s Medical Foundation New Scholar in Aging Award and NIH KO1 & National Research Service Awards.

The annual Ending Age-Related Diseases Conference by Lifespan.io brings longevity thought leaders to share research reports, get inspired and find new ideas. They also look for collaborators, sponsors, and mentors.
