Dr. Josh Mitteldorf: Are we about to make major advances in anti-aging research?
We are pleased to present an interview with Dr. Josh Mitteldorf, author and researcher who runs the Aging research blog Aging matters.
Dr. Josh Mitteldorf, an evolutionary biologist, has been a contributor to the growing science of aging for many years. His work has been centered on theories of aging. He asks a basic question: Why do we age and then die? It may seem silly to those who are encountering this question for the first. Most of us will respond with, \”Because it’s inevitable; all creatures eventually age and die as their bodies wear down.\”
Josh’s message is essentially, \”Not too fast. Many creatures do not age or die. The human being, and most animals who age and die are programmed. Humans are programmed in the same way as salmon to die after spawning.
