Senolytics is not the only long-term solution to senescent cells.
Since van Deursen’s team published a groundbreaking study in 2011, showing that removing aged cells in mice could delay the onset of age-related illnesses [1], Senolytics has been a hot topic. Interest in what was once considered a niche subject has grown at a rapid pace since then. Many researchers are now exploring the role of senescent cell in disease and aging.
There has been a recent surge in interest for developing new therapies to eliminate these senescent symtoms. But are there other ways to treat senescent symtoms than to periodically remove them with senolytics drugs and therapies.
