Discovering HTC and its effects on Cellular Senescence: Unlocking the Secrets of Youth

Keep your cells young by nourishing them with the right nutrients

Researchers from McGill University and Universite de Montreal have discovered a multi-enzyme compound that reprograms metabolism to overcome \”cellular senescence\”, when aging cells cease dividing.

Researchers have published a study in Molecular Cell today that shows an enzyme complex called HTC (hydride Transfer Complex) can prevent cells from aging.

\”HTC protects the cells from hypoxia – a lack in oxygen which normally causes their death,\” said Gerardo Ferbeyre. He is a UdeM professor of biochemistry and principal scientist at CRCHUM – the affiliated teaching hospital’s research center.
