A Faint Twinkle in the Eyes of a Human After Death

Scientists have revived a glimmer of activity in human eyes after death

Scientists have temporarily restored life to dying eye cells.

A team of US researchers measured the activity of retinal cells in mice and humans shortly after they died to better understand how nerve cells succumb when oxygen is lacking.

With a few changes to the tissue environment, the researchers were able revive the ability of the cells to communicate several hours later.
